Tattoo Aftercare

You will need a tube of Bepanthen cream which are sold in studio. Please check ingredients to avoid any allergic reaction. Always wash and dry your hands before and after handling a new tattoo site, and avoid touching the tattoo site unnecessarily so that exposure to germs is reduced.

1. Leave the sterile dressing on for 2 to 3 hours. After you have washed your hands, remove the dressing in a clean hygienic environment.

2. After removal of the dressing, gently wash the site with warm water with a mild soap liquid and PAT dry with a towel or clean tissues (DO NOT rub or skin will become irritated).

3. For the next 2 to 4 weeks, clean the tattoo by gently washing with warm water. with clean fingers apply a thin layer of Bepanthen cream. This should be done at least 2 to 3 times a day to keep the tattoo moisturized so that the skin is protected from dryness and the amount of potential scabbing is reduced, apply this until that tattoo is fully healed.

4. DO NOT pick or scratch your tattoo as this will delay healing and cause damage.

Swelling and mild bleeding can be normal for the first few days; hands, arms, legs and feet tend to swell more than other places.

Peeling skin and mild itchiness is expected during the scab formation over the next 1-2 weeks.

5. Shower rather than have a bath as you do not want to submerge your new tattoo.

6. Avoid swimming, sunbeds & saunas until healed. Do not use any cream not recommended by your tattooist. Always protect your healed tattoo with at least SPF 50 sun cream.
